We'd like to create a Pink Cow House Jam Band to have a forum to showcase all our talents. Because everyone has jobs and are all busy it is quite hard to get people together on the same days all the time so we would like to put a band together to pool songs, both covers and originals, together, so any of you who want to play original stuff, please send chord charts or links to myspace, so we can all learn them. And if you have favorite cover songs you do send a list. Ideally, we would like to have a couple of guitarist, bassists, drummers, vocals and keys and anything else anyone wants to join with so there will always be enough people to join and have fun playing with at any given time. If we put together a good playlist of lots of songs everyone basically knows it will be fun and easy to change up and everyone can enjoy jamming. If you think this sounds like fun and want to sign up just send a mail to cowjam@thepinkcow.com and some song suggestions!
As soon as we get some sign ups we will book a couple of dates to do things!

Mon., March 8th – International Women’s Day Celebration!
Since 1975, March 8th has been officially observed by the United Nations as International Women’s Day. It is a time to celebrate women and to shed light on the struggles that continue to affect women all over the world.
Polaris Project is one of the largest anti-trafficking organisations in the US and Japan and is combating human trafficking in many ways on both an international and local level. Women constitute a large percentage of those who are victims of forced labor and sex work in Japan and Polaris is dedicated to helping them find a way out.
Local singer Sorcha Chisholm is getting together with many of her talented friends for the “Women’s Day Polaris Benefit” at The Pink Cow in Shibuya.
It will be a fantastic night of local women musicians, painters and dancers and loads of special guests. We expect it to be a fabulous, fun event so come early for great Pink Cow food and the best seats!

This is a night to celebrate Japanese traditional music (usually Koto, Shamisen & Shakuhachi plus more) and experiment mixing it with modern western music.
